Everyone needs a vacation!

ATS Staff Travels

As travel consultants, we need to travel not only to learn about new destinations but also to re-visit the places we love. Hey, someone has to do it! And the staff members of Antietam Travel Service have been doing a lot of traveling!

Owners Linda and Bill Cleveland took their family on a Southern Caribbean Christmas cruise aboard the Caribbean Princess in December, visiting Puerto Rico, St. Thomas, Dominica, Grenada, Bonaire, and Aruba. They highly recommend a family vacation at Christmas. Leave the hustle and bustle at home and enjoy the season with your family! In March 2010 they flew to Riviera Maya, Mexico, just south of Cancun, where they stayed at the Dreams Riviera Cancun Resort & Spa, a 6 Apple all-inclusive resort. They stayed at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas in April for training in the agency's customer relationship management (CRM) tool - more on that in a future Travels with ATS. In May they escorted 86 Maryland and Delaware Elks to the Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton Resort & Spa, a 5 Apple (rated by Apple Vacations) all-inclusive resort in Lucea, Jamaica, about 30 minutes from Montego Bay.

Alex Bohn attended the Richard Wagner Opera Festival in Bayreuth, Germany last August and also visited Nuremberg and Bamberg. In November she stayed 8 days in Germany at the Christmas markets, traveling to Oberammergau, Bad Toelz, Munich and Stuttgart. In April 2010 she traveled to Florence and Tuscany and spent about 10 days exploring, among others, Florence, Siena, San Gimignano, Radda and Greve in Chianti.

Debbie Riffle cruised with a large group on Carnival Pride in August from Baltimore,  visiting Grand Turk, Half Moon Cay, Freeport, and Nassau. She went to Disney World in September. In October she stayed in Jamaica at the Riu Tropical Bay and visited other Riu, Sandals and Couples resorts in Negril. She sailed on the inaugural cruise of Oasis of the Seas in November. She sailed aboard Oceania Cruises' Regatta to Grand Turk, Samana in the Dominican Republic, Tortola, Antigua, St Lucia (where she visited both of the Sandals Resorts), Dominica, St. Bart, and Virgin Gorda in March 2010.

JoAnn Lindgren visited Walt Disney World with her family in June. She participated in a 3-night familiarization trip to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic, where she visited 16 resorts, in March 2010.

Julie Shanholtz stayed 4 nights at the all-inclusive Couples Sans Souci in Ocho Rios, Jamaica in May 2010.

Nancy Roberson experienced Walt Disney World for grown-ups in September (her 44th visit!) at the annual Food and Wine Festival - with an occasional thrill ride thrown in. In January 2010 she sailed "for seven glorious nights" aboard the Disney Wonder in a verandah stateroom. She visited Cozumel (Snuba), Grand Cayman (shopping and snorkeling) and Disney's own Castaway Cay for an unbelievable beach day. In April she relaxed at the Iberostar Lindo in Rivera Maya, Mexico. "Wonderful resort, wonderful staff! Snorkeling, diving, lazy river, wave pool and the best 'natural' wave pool of all - the Caribbean!"

Pat O'Beirne participated in a 3-night familiarization trip to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic, where she visited 16 resorts, in March 2010.

New All-inclusive Resort in Jamaica

ATS owners Linda and Bill Cleveland just got back from Jamaica, where they stayed at the Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton Resort & Spa, set on the northern Jamaica coastline with spectacular views of the Caribbean Sea. The resort is only 30 minutes from Montego Bay and boasts 3 buffet and 7 a la carte restaurants.

This all-inclusive resort opened in 2008 and is rated 5 Apples by Apple Vacations. The room was beautiful, and the food and service were superb.
